Common mistakes

The middle radical is و or ي. It stretches into a long vowel: قَالَ: and shortens before a consonant ending and in the jussive: قُلْتُ, لَمْ يَقُلْ.

• اِحْتَوَجَ → اِحْتَاجَ Past: he
• اِحْتَوَجَتْ → اِحْتَاجَتْ Past: she
