Common mistakes

The root ends in و or ي, and the endings themselves change. Three patterns cover it: دَعَا يَدْعُو, رَمَى يَرْمِي and نَسِيَ يَنْسَى.

• تَمَنَّيَ → تَمَنَّى Past: he
• تَمَنَّيَتْ → تَمَنَّتْ Past: she
• تَمَنَّيُوا → تَمَنَّوْا Past: they (m.)
• يَتَمَنَّيُ → يَتَمَنَّى Present: he
