Common mistakes

The root ends in و or ي, and the endings themselves change. Three patterns cover it: دَعَا يَدْعُو, رَمَى يَرْمِي and نَسِيَ يَنْسَى.

• أَعْطَوَ → أَعْطَى Past: he
• أَعْطَوَتْ → أَعْطَتْ Past: she
• أَعْطَوْتَ → أَعْطَيْتَ Past: you (m.)
• أَعْطَوْتُ → أَعْطَيْتُ Past: I
