Common mistakes

The middle radical is و or ي. It stretches into a long vowel: قَالَ: and shortens before a consonant ending and in the jussive: قُلْتُ, لَمْ يَقُلْ.

• اِخْتَيَرَ → اِخْتَارَ Past: he
• اِخْتَيَرَتْ → اِخْتَارَتْ Past: she
• اِخْتَيَرْتَ → اِخْتَرْتَ Past: you (m.)
