OurPins: Shared Place Map

Your places, and why they matter.
Shared only with your people.

Save places as emoji pins with a short note, mark where you want to go and where you have been, and keep a private map together with your partner or friends.

Help

Save a place

Tap + on the Map tab and search for a place or address, or long-press any spot on the map. Pick an emoji and a color, choose “Want to go” or “Been there” and add a note of up to 280 characters. Tap “Save”.

Mark a place as visited

Tap the pin on the map or the place in its list and switch to “Been there”. Visited pins get a green check on the map. The filter at the top of the map shows only one kind.

Change or delete a place

Open the place and tap “Edit” or “Delete”. In a list, you can also swipe a place to the left to delete it.

Share a map

Open the map in the Lists tab and tap the share button. Send the invitation with Messages, Mail or a link. Only the people you invite can see the map, and they can add places too. Everyone needs an iPhone signed in to iCloud.

Remove someone or leave a map

Tap the share button of the map again. As the owner you can remove people or stop sharing; someone you remove can only come back with a new invitation. If someone shared a map with you, use “Leave Map” in the map's menu.

Import and export

In the map's menu, choose “Import…” to add places from a CSV file with latitude and longitude columns or from a KML file, for example from Google My Maps. “Export CSV” and “Export KML” give you all places of a map, any time and for free.

Free version and OurPins Unlimited

The free version has one map with up to 25 places, and you can share it and join any map others share with you. OurPins Unlimited is a one-time purchase for unlimited maps and places; everyone on your maps benefits. To restore it, open Settings from the Lists tab and tap “Restore Purchase”.

Changes don't show up

Check that every iPhone is signed in to iCloud and online, then pull down on the Lists tab to refresh.

Your maps stay with you

OurPins has no account and no public feed. Your maps and notes are stored on your iPhone and in your own iCloud, and only the people you invite can see a shared map. The app sends anonymous usage events without place names, addresses, coordinates or notes.
