OurPins: Shared Place Map · Last updated: 2026-09-26
Introduction
This privacy policy explains how OurPins: Shared Place Map processes personal data when you use the app.
What Data We Collect
Device identifier
A pseudonymous identifier generated by the analytics SDK. No account, name, place, location or map is attached. Purpose: Measure anonymous product usage and purchase conversion. Legal basis: Our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) Data Retention: According to the configured analytics retention period.
Product interaction
Anonymous events for app lifecycle, paywall display, saved pins (how the place was added and a rough pin count), shared maps, accepted invitations and imports (file format and a rough count). Place names, addresses, coordinates, notes and map names are never sent. Purpose: Improve saving places, sharing and the paid offer. Legal basis: Our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) Data Retention: According to the configured analytics retention period.
Purchase history
Product identifier, price, and currency after a verified one-time purchase. Purpose: Measure paywall-to-purchase conversion. Legal basis: Our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) Data Retention: According to the configured analytics retention period.
Feedback content
The category and message a user voluntarily submits, plus app version, build, language, and source screen. The form asks users not to enter personal data. Purpose: Understand and resolve product problems and requests. Legal basis: Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) Data Retention: Until the feedback has been evaluated or deletion is requested.
Your maps, places and notes are stored on your iPhone and, when you are signed in to iCloud, in your own iCloud account through Apple's CloudKit. If you share a map, the people you invite can see and change it; if you join someone else's map, it is stored in that person's iCloud. Your location is only used on your iPhone to show where you are and to find places nearby; place search is handled by Apple Maps. Apple processes this data under its own privacy policy. We have no server and no access to your maps. Deleting the app's data in your iCloud settings removes it from iCloud.
How We Use Your Data
We use collected data only for the stated purposes. We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising or cross-app tracking.
